Tehrun Club 1401 Challenge was held in Nowruz in 2022. A total of 1590 people participated in this challenge, which is considered to be the largest public sports event in the country. This virtual challenge has been held regularly since 2018 and this year was the fourth year of its holding.
The aim of this challenge is that groups of 4 runners should run a total distance of 401 kilometers during the 13 days of the Nowruz holidays, wherever and whenever they wanted.
The people participating in the challenge, such as all physical competitions, were given race packs, t-shirts, drinks, and appropriate food, and the finishers of the challenge were given a finisher's medal and a certificate of participation in the challenge by the Club.
The main goal of the challenge was to create mental and physical motivation and for each person to compete with their own limitations. A total of 978 people managed to cross the finish line and receive finisher medals, which is actually a record of its own.
Also, collectively, the runners participating in the challenge ran 105,000K
To create even further motivation, the t-shirts for this challenge were produced in two separate colors for men and women.
The youngest challenge participant was 11 years old and the oldest challenge participant was 71 years old. Participants in the 1401 challenge were from all over Iran and about 100 people participated from abroad
One of the wonders of the challenge was breaking the record of the longest intra-city run by one of the participants who ran a total distance of 214 kilometers in 32 hours, 25 minutes, and 43 seconds.
For 400 of the participants, the 1401 challenge was the first experience of continuous running over several days. Many participants who participated in the Tehrun Club challenge for the first time believed that they had never experienced this lifestyle and that the challenge has changed their lives in many ways.
For these people, the 14 days of Nowruz transformed from a repetitive and inactive holiday into a challenging and exciting two weeks where they did something they had never experienced before. On the other hand, because of excessive traveling during Nowruz, cities, alleys, and streets were almost empty and that became a factor so that the participants could understand the experience of running in different parts of their cities.
This year's challenge medal was different and was designed based on the group activity nature of the challenge. In fact, the independent medals, each of which could be a piece of a larger 4-piece medal, represented the group spirit of the challenge at the same time as the independence of each of the participants. Nowruz Challenge of Tehrun Club engulfs a motivation and goal in its heart every year, which is expressed with a slogan. This year, the turn of the century became the inspiration for the Tehrun Club's challenge slogan. "100 Years of Well-being" was a wish and a slogan that every runner tried to fulfill by running.
In the end, the main motive of holding the Nowruz challenge is to create a different experience and to introduce this sport to the public, and its feedback shows the success Tehrun Club had in achieving this goal.
